Jaipur, April 29 (NationPress) Rajasthan Chief Secretary Sudhansh Pant, while leading a state-level review meeting on law and order at the Government Secretariat on Tuesday, stressed the imperative for increased vigilance across all districts following the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir.

Describing the incident as a calculated attempt to disrupt communal peace and harmony, Pant instructed all District Collectors and Superintendents of Police to uphold strict law and order within their respective areas.

He highlighted the necessity for ongoing monitoring, especially of social media platforms, which have been misused in certain regions to disseminate inappropriate and inflammatory content.

The Chief Secretary urged district administrations to conduct regular meetings with Sub-Divisional Officers, Circle Officers, Tehsildars, and Police Station Officers to ensure quick and coordinated responses to any incidents.

"District-level meetings are already being held regularly, and these should persist with close supervision given the current law and order climate," he stated.

Pant pointed out reports of inflammatory posters being shared on platforms such as Facebook, WhatsApp, and Telegram, calling for immediate action against the perpetrators.

"District Magistrates and Superintendents of Police must identify and take decisive action against individuals attempting to incite communal discord," he urged.

He also emphasized the significance of fostering community trust, advising officers to make routine field visits, interact with local residents, and monitor suspicious and anti-social activities.

In light of reports concerning bandh calls and the submission of protest memorandums in specific districts, Pant instructed officials to exercise heightened caution.

The Chief Secretary also mandated that enhanced security measures be implemented at critical public and sensitive locations, including markets, religious sites, tourist attractions, airports, railway stations, and bus terminals.

He directed the immediate deployment of police squads in anticipation of large gatherings.
