Jaipur, Feb 24 (NationPress) Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma reiterated the state government's dedication to enhancing law and order through the application of new criminal statutes. He guaranteed that there would be ample resources allocated for their effective implementation.

During a high-level meeting held at his residence on Monday, Sharma assessed the execution of the Indian Judicial Code, Indian Civil Defense Code, and Indian Evidence Act.

He stressed that public safety and rapid justice are paramount and pointed to policy decisions and budgetary allocations made in the State Budget 2025-26 aimed at fortifying the Home Department.

Sharma instructed officials to hasten recruitment and promotion processes to guarantee sufficient manpower for effective crime management. He also urged the Home Department to strategize for upcoming vacancies to allow for immediate hiring.

The Chief Minister mandated that 100% of Home Department staff receive training in the new laws to ensure smooth implementation.

On the issue of targeting criminal assets, he ordered stringent measures against offenders who possess illicit properties, directing officials to seize such assets as a deterrent against criminal activities.

To improve tracking of criminal activities, Sharma highlighted the necessity of mandatory fingerprint capture for all detainees and an effective e-summons system to enhance law enforcement. He acknowledged the new legal provision permitting release after serving one-third of the sentence for first-time offenders and urged a careful, timely decision-making approach in these cases.

Officials informed the Chief Minister that Rajasthan is actively rolling out the new laws in accordance with directives from Union Home Minister Amit Shah and the Union Home Secretary.

Key updates revealed that 84% of police personnel have been trained in the new legal framework, and 98.5% of investigating officers have completed their training. Furthermore, 1.12 lakh FIRs have been registered under the new laws, with over 75,000 cases resolved, as reported by officials.
