Rajasthan Government Responds in SI Recruitment Exam Leak Case, Maintains Exam Validity

Jaipur, Jan 9 (NationPress) The government of Rajasthan has officially communicated its stance to the High Court, asserting that it will not annul the Sub-Inspector Recruitment Exam 2021.

Copies of this response have been shared with all pertinent parties, and Justice Sameer Jain's court is anticipated to deliberate on the issue later today.

Additional Advocate General Vigyan Shah, representing the government, notified the court that the inquiry into the paper leak is still in progress.

He revealed that several individuals implicated in the leak have been detained, and nearly 40 trainee sub-inspectors, who posed as dummy candidates and participated in fraudulent activities, have been suspended.

Shah mentioned that additional measures are being taken, and at this juncture, the government is not in a position to make a critical decision like cancelling the recruitment initiative.

The issue began when the exam paper for the Sub-Inspector Recruitment Exam was compromised. An investigation by the Special Operations Group (SOG) uncovered that multiple dummy candidates took the exam, with numerous candidates obtaining positions through deceitful tactics. To date, around 50 trainee sub-inspectors have been arrested in connection with this case, with 25 of them having received bail from the High Court.

The High Court has clarified that if the government does not provide a response, it will be assumed that it agrees with the SIT report, the viewpoint of the Advocate General, and the recommendations of the Cabinet Sub-Committee to annul the recruitment process.

This presumption will form the basis for the court’s ruling. The court has also mandated the government to present crucial documents, including the SIT report dated August 13, 2024, the Advocate General’s legal advice from September 14, 2024, and comprehensive records of the Cabinet Sub-Committee meetings conducted on October 7 and October 10, 2024, by January 9.

Justice Sameer Jain issued this order following an application submitted by Kailash Chandra Sharma and others.
