Jaipur, June 21 (NationPress) In a significant achievement, the Udyog Nagar police station in Alwar district, Rajasthan, apprehended a notorious criminal, Nasir Meo alias Siddiq Khan (42), who hails from Heerwadi, Firozpur Jhirka Sadar, Nuh Mewat, Haryana.

With a bounty of Rs 25,000 on his head, Nasir was identified as the mastermind behind an interstate syndicate engaged in extensive fraud, vehicle theft, and the embezzlement of high-value goods.

According to SP Sanjeev Nain, this arrest has unveiled a well-organized gang operating across multiple states. The breakthrough occurred while probing a case filed on January 23, involving a truck and its driver, which had gone missing while transporting mustard oil.

A special investigation team was established under the guidance of Additional SP Dr. Tejpal Singh, with oversight from Circle Officer Ramgarh Sunil Prasad Sharma and leadership by SHO Udyog Nagar Ajit Singh Badsara.

The team worked tirelessly, ultimately capturing Nasir Meo thanks to credible intel from an informant. In a thrilling pursuit, Nasir attempted to escape in his Hyundai Alcazar, but his vehicle was immobilized due to spikes on the road. Despite this setback, he managed to drive nearly 10 km before being apprehended.

Investigations revealed that Nasir led a sophisticated gang that forged documents, altered chassis numbers, and utilized counterfeit number plates to steal truckloads of goods. They deceived transporters by impersonating legitimate drivers with forged driving licenses and IDs.

After loading valuable goods, they would vanish, later repainting and modifying the trucks for subsequent crimes or selling them to a known smuggler named Javed in Maharashtra. The gang also exploited loopholes in the vehicle registration system.

Using counterfeit chassis and engine numbers, they secured NOCs from Assam and Nagaland to register these vehicles in Rajasthan. Subsequently, these vehicles were used to fraudulently obtain bank loans or were falsely reported as stolen and scrapped.

The gang’s network includes Nazir (Jaipur) – RTO broker, Vikram Gurjar (Shahpura, Jaipur), Rafi Adba, and Javed (Maharashtra). So far, police have recovered the Hyundai Alcazar used during the escape, a truck with an altered chassis and fake RC, along with 259 stolen mustard oil cans.

Nasir Meo has numerous criminal cases registered against him in Rajasthan, Haryana, and Uttar Pradesh.

The Alwar police are continuing their investigation and are optimistic about dismantling the entire criminal network soon.
