Jaipur, Nov 1 (NationPress) In a significant achievement under Operation Chakravyuh, the Pratapgarh Police in Rajasthan have successfully confiscated a substantial shipment of the synthetic narcotic MD (Mephedrone), estimated to be worth approximately Rs 5 crore. Authorities have apprehended one suspect, as reported by an official.

The operation was executed following the special instructions of District Superintendent of Police B. Aditya.

As per officials, a combined task force from the District Special Team (DST) and Hathunia Police Station intercepted a motorcycle rider during a checkpoint on the Bagaliya-Barotha road last Friday.

Upon inspection, police discovered a total of 2 kilograms and 227 grams of MD concealed in a bag on the motorcycle.

SP Aditya noted that the operation was spearheaded by Deputy Superintendent of Police (Circle Pratapgarh) Gajendra Singh Rao and Station House Officer Indrajeet Parmar, who were conducting rigorous checks.

During the inspection, a motorcycle approached from the direction of Bagaliya. When instructed to halt, the rider attempted to flee but was quickly surrounded and captured by the police.

The suspect was identified as Akbar Pathan (40), a resident of Kotdi. Upon interrogation, he was unable to provide a convincing reason for fleeing. A thorough search of the motorcycle revealed the illegal substance.

During questioning, Pathan reportedly admitted to acquiring the MD from Badru alias Peer Mohammad, a resident of Bagaliya, and was intending to deliver it to Nayum, the son of Namroz Khan Pathan of Kotdi.

Akbar Pathan has been arrested, and a case has been filed under the NDPS Act at the Hathunia Police Station.

The MD shipment and the unregistered motorcycle have been confiscated. SP Aditya stated that the investigation is ongoing to unveil the full network involved in this illicit drug trade, which is believed to have international connections.
