What is the Current COVID-19 Situation in Rajasthan?

Jaipur, May 27 (NationPress) Rajasthan has reported nine new COVID-19 cases, including a 16-day-old infant, within the last 24 hours, bringing this year’s total to 32 confirmed cases.

Among the latest cases, seven were detected in Jaipur, while the remaining two were confirmed at AIIMS Jodhpur.

The Health Department has gathered samples from all affected individuals for genome sequencing. Health officials noted that two cases were identified at AIIMS Jodhpur, with an equal number testing positive at Sawai Man Singh (SMS) Hospital in Jaipur.

Additionally, four cases were recorded at B Lal Diagnostic Lab in Jaipur, and one case was confirmed at Aanavik Diagnostic Centre, also in Jaipur. In Jodhpur, the 16-day-old male infant tested positive alongside a 35-year-old female.

From January 1 to May 27 of this year, there have been 32 cases in total, with one reported death.

Jaipur has the highest count of COVID-19 positive cases, followed by Jodhpur with six cases, Udaipur with four cases, Didwana with three cases, Ajmer with two cases, and one case each in Sawai Madhopur, Phalodi, Bikaner, and one additional patient.

Health officials are diligently monitoring the situation, urging residents to adhere to safety protocols and seek testing if symptoms arise.

In response to the increase in COVID-19 cases, Rajasthan’s Medical and Health Minister Gajendra Singh Khinwasar convened a crucial meeting with officials from the Health Department on Tuesday.

During this meeting, he provided directives to enhance preventive measures and ensure medical preparedness.

The Minister mentioned that, according to the Union government, the current COVID-19 variant is not deemed fatal, yet individuals should remain vigilant and consult a healthcare provider if symptoms such as cough, cold, or fever occur.

Khinwasar emphasized the need for at-risk groups, including the elderly, pregnant women, individuals with serious health conditions, and children, to take additional precautions. He advised the public to avoid crowded areas and seek medical guidance for symptoms of Influenza-Like Illness (ILI).

He also instructed department officials to ensure that diagnostic and treatment facilities are accessible and operational throughout the state.

Medical experts have confirmed that while the situation is under close observation, the threat level remains manageable.

Gayatri Rathore, Principal Government Secretary of the Health Department, highlighted the importance of keeping oxygen plants fully functional across the state.

She directed officials to promptly repair any non-operational plants and ensure that all facilities are prepared for potential case surges.

Additionally, she reiterated the necessity of strictly following the central government’s updated COVID-19 guidelines.
