Film producer R.B. Chaudhary, 76, killed in road accident on NH-162 in Pali

Renowned South Indian film producer and businessman R.B. Chaudhary, 76, died in a road accident near Jhunta village on National Highway-162 in Rajasthan's Pali district on Tuesday afternoon, 6 May 2025. Chaudhary, who was based in Chennai, was returning from a family wedding when the fatal crash occurred.

How the Accident Happened

According to police, the vehicle lost control after cattle suddenly moved onto the highway, causing the car to crash into a roadside safety wall. The impact was severe, and R.B. Chaudhary died on the spot. The car driver, Gautam Seervi, sustained serious injuries and was provided first aid before being referred to Jodhpur for further treatment.

Police Response and Recovery

Officials from Raipur police station reached the site shortly after the incident. Assistant Sub-Inspector Manohar Lal Khoja supervised rescue efforts and ensured the injured were shifted to hospital. The body was sent for post-mortem and subsequently handed over to the family. According to police, the mortal remains have been transported to Chennai, where the last rites will be performed.

Who Was R.B. Chaudhary

Originally from Risaniya, near Sojat Road in Rajasthan, Chaudhary had built a prominent career as a film producer and businessman in the South Indian entertainment industry, operating primarily out of Chennai. He was travelling back from a family wedding in Lilamba village at the time of the accident. The incident has triggered mourning both in his native region and among associates in the film and business communities.
