Varanasi, March 1 (NationPress) Uttar Pradesh Cabinet Minister Om Prakash Rajbhar has stated that prominent figures within the Muslim community hinder less privileged members from accessing land owned by the Waqf Board. This scenario is leading to dissatisfaction and frustration among community members.
In addressing those who oppose the Waqf Amendment Bill, Rajbhar contended that the government's goal is to ensure that impoverished Muslims, particularly women and youth, gain access to the Waqf Board’s lands, which have historically been dominated by a select few.
When questioned about the protests against the Waqf Amendment Bill, Rajbhar expressed that the opponents of the bill are in fact adversaries of the Muslim community. He noted that those who occupy and sell Waqf Board lands for profit are the same individuals resisting the amendment.
He posed the question: “What’s the issue if the underprivileged Muslims benefit from the Waqf Board’s land?”
He emphasized that the government's initiative is to distribute these lands effectively to assist the marginalized segments of society.
When asked about the impending Bihar Assembly elections, Rajbhar revealed that his party is gearing up to compete for 29 seats and has established a solid organizational foundation at the grassroots level. His party has enhanced its presence down to the booth level in these areas.
In reference to the Himachal Pradesh government’s appeal for assistance from temples and monasteries, Rajbhar remarked that during crises, support should be sought from all sectors. He stressed the importance of collective contribution, asserting that assistance should not be limited by region or religion.
Responding to the opposition’s inquiries regarding the Maha Kumbh data, Rajbhar stated that it is the opposition's role to question, while the government's duty is to execute its plans and policies efficiently. He criticized the opposition for attempting to obstruct the government's efforts.
On the CAG reports presented in the Delhi assembly highlighting violations by AAP during its tenure, Rajbhar asserted that once the inquiry report is released, those responsible will be apprehended. He guaranteed that actions will be taken based on the report's conclusions, and offenders will face consequences.
