Thiruvananthapuram, Sep 21 (NationPress) Kerala BJP President Rajeev Chandrasekhar expressed his outrage on Sunday when pressed by reporters about the suicide of Thirumala BJP Councillor Anil Kumar, whose death has sparked controversy.

The tension escalated when journalists inquired about accusations that media personnel were assaulted while reporting on Anil's demise.

Chandrasekhar accused certain media outlets of attempting to protect the CPI-M and disseminating misinformation.

"Who informed you of that? What channel are you representing? Cease spreading falsehoods. This is outright fabrication. You are affiliated with a channel that thrives on deceit and lacks integrity. How can you tarnish the reputation of someone who is no longer with us?" he responded sharply.

The BJP leader alleged that Anil had been under immense pressure due to threats from CPI-M leaders.

He asserted that the Left party was employing a "new tactic" of intimidation against BJP members.

"This is an extremely serious issue. We possess evidence that Anil was threatened. The truth will come to light in the forthcoming days. The CPI-M is attempting to silence its opposition through intimidation," he stated.

Chandrasekhar refuted claims that Anil's cooperative society was under BJP control, labeling such allegations as entirely unfounded.

The State BJP President admitted to having a conversation with Anil two days prior to his death but maintained that they did not discuss financial difficulties or issues regarding the society.

Clearly frustrated by the line of questioning, Rajeev Chandrasekhar emphasized that the media should focus on the threats faced by Anil rather than on "false narratives".

He accused certain media outlets of deliberately attempting to shield the CPI-M by diverting attention.

"This is not an issue to be minimized. A young Councillor has lost his life. Instead of seeking the actual reasons, some media organizations are misleading the public," he added.

The BJP leader reiterated that his party is treating this incident with the utmost seriousness and will ensure that the circumstances surrounding Anil's death are thoroughly examined.
