This signature holds the power to influence financial decisions, shape businesses, and affect the lives of many.

He urged Chartered Accountants (CAs) to transform into strategic advisors, ethical guardians, and innovators to remain pertinent in the current dynamic and technology-driven landscape.

Rajnath Singh made these remarks during the opening session of the World Forum of Accountants, hosted by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) here on Friday.

He described a ‘new set of skills, encompassing critical thinking, emotional intelligence, and adaptability’ as vital in today’s world.

Highlighting the rapid pace of technological advancements, he noted that the corporate world, which was traditionally dominated by large, centralized entities, is now being reshaped by a surge in the number of start-ups.

He indicated that global trade is now a tangible reality, leading organizations to grow larger and more complex, resulting in an explosion of information. The Defence Minister stated,

“This fast-changing environment necessitates continuous innovation. Traditional methods of processing and analyzing information are being challenged by new advancements whose worth is still uncertain. This means that as accountants, you must not only engage in lifelong learning but also innovate and adapt to stay ahead.”

“You are the guardians of trust, the gatekeepers of accountability, and ultimately, the custodians of prosperity in this ever-evolving world. The future necessitates not just expertise but also courage and creativity to innovate and maintain the highest standards in your profession,” the Defence Minister added.

Stressing that India is a resurgent power on the global stage, he recognized the flourishing businesses and reputation of Indian professionals worldwide, acknowledging the trust and expertise earned by CAs.

He labeled accountants as the sentinels of organizational transparency, responsible for delivering vital information regarding profits, losses, cash flows, balance sheets, assets, and liabilities.

He asserted that being trustworthy, honest, and maintaining integrity are core individual values for any accountant, describing them as the foundation of the collective ethos that supports the credibility of the entire financial ecosystem.

Rajnath Singh praised the dedication and commitment of CAs, stating they have significantly contributed to the country's development.

To the accountants from friendly nations present, he remarked that India is open for business and is committed to collaboration.

“We are eager to learn, adapt, and share our expertise. We are ready to invest in our shared global future,” he added.
