Sources within the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) indicated that Bittu is now expected to redirect his energies toward upcoming political activities and Assembly elections in Punjab. The BJP, currently in opposition in the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP)-governed state, is reportedly positioning Bittu as a key figure in its bid to regain ground in Punjab. His exit from the Cabinet is widely seen as a strategic recalibration ahead of the state polls.

Ravneet Singh Bittu, 50, is the grandson of former Punjab Chief Minister Beant Singh, who was assassinated in 1995. Bittu joined the BJP in 2024 after parting ways with the Indian National Congress (INC). He had unsuccessfully contested the Lok Sabha elections following his switch. In recent weeks, Bittu drew attention for criticising the Diljit Dosanjh-starrer film 'Satluj', calling it an attempt to trigger controversy. He clarified that his objections were directed at terrorism, violence, and bloodshed — not at any religion — and emphasised that Sikhism 'stands for peace, courage, sacrifice and service to humanity.'
