Amaravati, May 1 (NationPress) The preparations are finalized for the re-launch of the capital development projects of Andhra Pradesh led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi this Friday, almost ten years after he initially laid the foundation stone.
Following a prolonged period of uncertainty, legal challenges, and political instability, the Prime Minister is poised to recommence the capital projects with the attendance of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan, and prominent figures from the ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA).
He is scheduled to arrive in Amaravati at 3:20 p.m. to lay the groundwork for projects valued at Rs 49,040 crore, which encompass five towers of the Amaravati Government Complex, the High Court, the Legislative Assembly building, among others.
Additionally, he will lay the foundation stone for several initiatives and inaugurate others totaling Rs 57,962 crore related to the DRDO, DPIIT, NHAI, and the Railways.
The state government has made extensive arrangements for the public gathering, anticipated to be attended by lakhs of individuals.
A ministerial team visited the event location near the state Secretariat on Thursday to assess the preparations for this eagerly awaited event.
Finance Minister Payyavula Keshav assured that all necessary preparations for the public meeting are in place.
Given the expectation of attendees from all Assembly constituencies, the Chief Minister has instructed officials to ensure that everyone has a hassle-free experience.
Minister for Municipal Administration P. Narayana mentioned that farmers from 29 villages who contributed 34,000 acres of land for the state capital will be recognized during the event. He expressed optimism that the capital's development would enhance the financial well-being of the community.
He reiterated the government's goal to complete the capital city's construction per the master plan within three years.
Chief Secretary K. Vijayanand also reviewed preparations at the public meeting site, including the Amaravati pylon and parking facilities.
In light of the summer season, arrangements for drinking water, snacks, lunch, and dinner for attendees arriving from various regions by bus have been made.
Chief Minister Naidu has invited leaders from the TDP, Jana Sena, and BJP across the state to participate in the gathering.
He asserted that the previous TDP government achieved an unprecedented feat by successfully pooling land. Farmers willingly offered their land with hopes for a brighter future; however, the previous YSR Congress government disrupted Amaravati with the proposal of three capitals.
Naidu stated that the people's and farmers' protests in the capital region ultimately yielded positive results. With the Centre's active support, both the ADB and the World Bank have granted loans for the capital, according to the Chief Minister.
On October 22, 2015, the Prime Minister laid the foundation stone for Amaravati during a ceremony at Uddandarayunipalem.
Some developmental activities were initiated by the prior TDP government; however, these efforts ceased when it lost power in 2019 as the YSR Congress Party, led by Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, opted for the development of three state capitals.
Following the TDP-led NDA's return to power in June last year, Naidu decided to revive his ambitious project.
The CRDA approved tenders for 59 development projects valued at Rs 37,702 crore on March 11.
Previously, the CRDA had invited tenders for 73 projects worth Rs 48,012 crore. The state government intends to allocate Rs 64,721 crore in the first phase for development works and essential amenities.
