Hyderabad, July 18 (NationPress) Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy called upon his Andhra Pradesh counterpart, N. Chandrababu Naidu, on Friday, urging him not to hinder Telangana's vital irrigation initiatives.
He specifically addressed the importance of projects like the Palamuru–Rangareddy Lift Irrigation Scheme, along with Dindi, Kalwakurthy, Bheema, Nettempadu, and Koilsagar projects, asking the neighboring state to refrain from obstructing these essential efforts.
“We request that Andhra Pradesh does not impede our projects. We seek their cooperation. If our requests continue to be overlooked, we will take action to achieve our objectives. I am prepared to lead this crusade,” he stated during a public gathering in Nagarkurnool district.
Revanth Reddy reminded everyone that Naidu, while serving as the Chief Minister of undivided Andhra Pradesh, had proclaimed his commitment to Palamuru (in Mahabubnagar district). “If he genuinely cares for the equitable development of the Telugu populace across both states, he ought to rescind the Rayalaseema Lift Irrigation Project, which diverts 3 TMCs of water daily,” he asserted.
“We appeal to Chandrababu Naidu garu to behave responsibly and demonstrate generosity,” he added.
The Chief Minister revealed plans for land acquisition for the Palamuru–Rangareddy, Dindi, Kalwakurthy, Bheema, Koilsagar, and Nettempadu projects to be finalized by December 9 this year, ensuring compensation for all affected parties. The objective is to complete these projects within the next two years, enabling water supply from Thummidihatti to Vikarabad, Tandur, and Chevella.
CM Revanth Reddy also inaugurated the proposed Young India Residential School in Kollapur and Jetpore of Nagarkurnool district.
He emphasized the ongoing irrigation projects, various welfare schemes targeting women, and government job recruitments.
According to him, the Congress-led government in Telangana has created 60,000 jobs in its first year. Moreover, Telangana has become the first state in India to finalize the categorization of SC sub-castes as mandated by the Supreme Court.
Revanth Reddy pledged that the ‘people’s government’ will aim to fill an additional 40,000 jobs in the next year and a half, totaling 100,000 jobs and setting a benchmark for the nation.
During his international visits, the state has attracted nearly Rs 3 lakh crore in investments, generating 100,000 jobs in the private sector.
He claimed that in just 18 months of governance, Telangana has initiated more welfare schemes for women than any other state. “To elevate Telangana to a $1 trillion economy by 2035, we must empower 1 crore women to become crorepatis,” he declared.
As part of this initiative, CM Revanth Reddy distributed cheques worth Rs 344 crore in interest-free loans to women self-help groups, along with financial aid related to bank linkages, accident insurance, and loan insurance. Additionally, food security cards (ration cards) were issued to numerous beneficiaries.
