During a recent event in Bhopal, the chief minister announced this enhancement from the previous Rs 1,000 per month.
Previously, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav had mentioned an additional Rs 250 per beneficiary to be transferred on Bhai Dooj, which was celebrated on October 23, but it did not happen as scheduled.
CM Yadav emphasized, "Our government is unwavering in its dedication to women's welfare and ensuring joy in their lives."
On October 12, during a significant ceremony, CM Yadav transferred Rs 1,541 crore as the 29th installment directly into the bank accounts of over 1.26 crore beneficiaries of the Ladli Behna scheme, stating, "This Diwali and Bhai Dooj gift will empower our sisters."
He also highlighted the Lakhpati Behna Yojana, which has successfully provided employment to over 100,000 women and linked 6.2 million women with self-help groups (SHGs).
The Chief Minister noted that more than 47 percent of startups in the state are led by women.
"They are transforming from job seekers to job creators," he stated.
Expressing appreciation to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for ongoing support, he reflected on the progress compared to the Congress era, saying, "Opportunities were scarce back then; the situation has changed dramatically."
CM Yadav reaffirmed the government's commitment to a 33 percent reservation for women in both the Lok Sabha and state assemblies.
He praised 'Bharat Mata Ki Jai' as a distinctive global salute, asserting, "India uniquely connects maternal strength with nationhood. When a mother is empowered, she rejuvenates society, culture, and age-old traditions."
With this increased stipend, the Ladli Behna Yojana not only ensures financial stability but also fosters entrepreneurship, leadership, and cultural revitalization, positioning Madhya Pradesh as a benchmark for gender empowerment.
