Patna, Sep 22 (NationPress) The spokesperson for Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), Chitranjan Gagan, urged the BJP on Monday to validate the authenticity and timing of the contentious audio-video clip they released, which allegedly includes disrespectful comments regarding Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s mother, or alternatively, to deliver a public apology.
Gagan raised doubts about the reliability of the clip, questioning how the abusive remarks were captured so clearly while the voice of Leader of Opposition (LoP) in the Bihar Assembly, Tejashwi Yadav, who was addressing from a microphone on stage, was absent in the footage.
“If this video clip truly originates from Tejashwi Yadav’s speech, then why is his voice missing? It is bewildering that the audio of someone using derogatory language was recorded, yet Tejashwi Yadav’s microphone address was not captured,” he stated.
Condemning the use of offensive language that invokes sacred terms like ‘mother’ and ‘sister’, Gagan accused the BJP of descending to new levels of political indecency for electoral advantage.
“It is deeply troubling for Indian democracy that all boundaries of decency are being crossed in the race against political opponents,” he remarked.
The BJP has yet to react to the RJD’s request for proof or a formal apology.
Gagan labeled it a sponsored conspiracy intended to tarnish LoP Tejashwi Yadav’s image and divert attention from pressing public issues.
He asserted that the BJP is alarmed by the overwhelming public enthusiasm towards Tejashwi Yadav’s 'Bihar Adhikar Yatra' and has resorted to lies and deception to distract from critical campaign issues.
“Unable to address the public welfare and development matters that Tejashwi Yadav is emphasizing, the BJP and its allies are engaging in conspiracy and perpetuating falsehoods,” Gagan alleged.
“The RJD’s culture does not support the use of inappropriate language against anyone. If any offensive words were directed towards the Prime Minister or his late mother, we categorically denounce it and demand a thorough investigation with strict actions against the offenders,” he asserted.
However, the BJP has vocally condemned the incident. Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary, Union Minister Nityanand Rai, BJP leader Giriraj Singh, BJP IT cell chief Amit Malviya, and Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) National President Chirag Paswan have all criticized the RJD and Tejashwi Yadav, holding them accountable for the remarks.
BJP representatives claimed that the derogatory video clip surfaced during Tejashwi Yadav's public address in the Patepur Assembly constituency in Vaishali district on Saturday.
A complaint regarding this matter was also lodged at Patna’s Gandhi Maidan Police Station.
This controversy arises as political tensions escalate ahead of the forthcoming Bihar elections, with Tejashwi Yadav attracting large crowds during his 'Bihar Adhikar Yatra'.
