New Delhi/Mumbai, Sep 23 (NationPress) The auspicious commencement of Navratri, fueled by the momentum from the GST 2.0 reforms, has infused remarkable positivity into the automobile sector, leading to car dealers across the nation reporting impressive sales figures.
The GST reforms have significantly lowered prices for both passenger and commercial vehicles, resulting in cheers from customers.
While Maruti Suzuki projected its retail sales to exceed 30,000 units on the first day of the rate rationalization, Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) achieved nearly 11,000 dealer billings, marking its highest single-day performance in the last five years.
According to Tarun Garg, whole-time director and COO of HMIL, this reflects a strong festive sentiment and customer confidence.
“As one of the first automobile companies to fully pass on the complete GST benefits to our customers, we are thrilled to enhance our customers' celebrations. Looking ahead, we expect sustained festive demand and are dedicated to providing value and excitement to our customers,” he stated.
With the reduction in GST rates, customers hurried to acquire their desired models at lower prices.
Maruti Suzuki reported that customer response on the inaugural day of Navratri and the GST implementation has been exceptionally encouraging.
The company’s dealerships noted approximately 80,000 customer inquiries on Monday. With the price cuts, bookings for small cars surged by 50 percent.
The Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations (FADA) indicated that automotive dealers experienced increased footfalls as buyers flocked to dealerships in large numbers on Monday to purchase cars.
Car dealers welcomed the next-generation GST reforms, stating that these changes will enhance purchasing power and significantly boost the economy. They also commended Prime Minister Narendra Modi for introducing these measures during the festive season.
