Patna, March 25 (NationPress) The Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) has unveiled a controversial poster targeting Chief Minister Nitish Kumar regarding the divisive Waqf (Amendment) Bill and the National Register of Citizens (NRC).

This poster, displayed by Sanju Kohli, a prominent RJD woman leader and former district councillor of Makhdumpur, Gaya, was placed outside party leader Rabri Devi's residence at 10 Circular Road, Patna, depicting CM Nitish welcoming a Muslim cleric.

The message on the poster stated: "Tum To Dhokhebaj Ho, Wada Karke Bhul Jate Ho. (You are a cheater; you forget your promises)."

It further read, "I will take your vote but not stand with you on NRC and Waqf Bill with you."

This move comes in light of increasing dissatisfaction among Muslim organizations, which recently chose to boycott CM Nitish's Iftar party held at his official residence, 1 Anne Marg, on Sunday.

The boycott reflects discontent with CM Nitish's policies, particularly concerning the Waqf Bill and NRC, which many in the minority community view as detrimental to Muslims.

With this poster, the RJD appears to be positioning itself as the “true voice” for minorities, seeking to strengthen its traditional MY (Muslim-Yadav) voter base.

On Monday evening, RJD Chief Lalu Prasad hosted a large Iftar gathering at Abdul Bari Siddiqui's residence, attended by numerous Muslim community members.

By releasing the poster shortly after the Iftar, the RJD aims to challenge CM Nitish's secular reputation.

In response, JD(U) leader Neeraj Kumar criticized RJD Chief Lalu, asserting that his Iftar party lost significance as his ally (Congress) chose to abstain.

"No colleagues no friends. Nobody wants to be a partner in your Karma," Neeraj Kumar remarked, attacking Lalu.

He also mentioned that Lalu's son has distanced himself from the RJD chief, indicating that Lalu has been marginalized.

The recent political maneuvers, including Iftar politics and contentious posters, come as the state prepares for the 2025 Bihar Assembly elections.
