Guwahati, Sep 10 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Assam, Himanta Biswa Sarma, made a visit to Golaghat district on Wednesday to review the extensive preparations for Prime Minister Narendra Modi's forthcoming visit to Numaligarh.
On September 14, Prime Minister Modi is set to inaugurate a newly constructed bamboo-based ethanol plant in Numaligarh.
During the visit, the Chief Minister evaluated the arrangements for a public meeting scheduled at the Tanker Stand within the Numaligarh Refinery campus.
In a bid to ensure the programme's success, CM Sarma engaged in a crucial review meeting with Cabinet Ministers, MPs, MLAs, district administration, and other relevant agencies involved in the preparations.
At the Numaligarh Tanker Stand, the Prime Minister will deliver a speech at a significant public rally, anticipated to draw over 100,000 attendees.
The Chief Minister instructed authorities to guarantee sufficient provisions for drinking water, vehicle parking, sanitation, and first-aid services for the public.
In addition to security protocols, he urged the police and district administration to prevent any traffic jams near the venue during the Prime Minister's event.
While addressing the press, the Chief Minister noted that the bamboo-based ethanol plant was developed at an investment of approximately Rs 5,000 crore.
Moreover, on September 14, the Prime Minister will unveil projects worth over Rs 18,000 crore from Numaligarh and Mangaldai, marking a new chapter of socio-economic advancement in Assam.
While in Numaligarh on Wednesday, CM Sarma also planted a neem sapling along the Letekujan–Tanker Stand connecting road as a symbol of welcoming the Prime Minister’s visit.
The Chief Minister disclosed that the Prime Minister is expected to arrive at Guwahati’s Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport at 4:20 p.m. on September 13.
The following day, he will head to Mangaldai, where he is slated to lay the foundation stone of the Darrang Medical College at 11 a.m.
In addition to the medical college, a GNM school and a nursing college will also be established, with an overall investment of Rs 567 crore.
