Jammu, Aug 4 (NationPress) The Rural Self Employment Training Institute (RSETI) has recently conducted a complimentary training program in Reasi district, Jammu and Kashmir, attracting numerous new and aspiring beauticians from throughout the region.
Participants received professional training focused on the beauty salon industry, along with training materials, food, and complimentary accommodation.
This initiative, tailored specifically for young women, aims to promote their financial independence and self-sufficiency.
The program's primary objective is to provide the women of Jammu and Kashmir with skill-based education so they can either establish their own beauty parlour or gain employment at a reputable salon.
This will empower them to lead dignified lives and achieve self-sustainability.
The institute director noted: "Our vision is to assist every girl in Jammu & Kashmir in realizing her aspirations. This training serves not merely as a course but as a significant stride toward self-reliance."
Many trainees expressed gratitude for the initiative and acknowledged the government's efforts in launching such programs.
"I came to Reasi for a beautician course, and within just 10 days, I’ve learned threading, mehndi, facials, bleaching, and waxing — all through practical training. This course has instilled confidence and skills I never thought I could acquire. Everything, including training, meals, and lodging, is free. This truly supports girls like us who cannot afford to travel elsewhere. I am immensely grateful to the trainer for this incredible opportunity,” shared Priya.
Another trainee, Sonam Verma, echoed similar thoughts and called for more programs in the future to empower the daughters of the valley.
“We are receiving comprehensive training on cosmetic treatments, including threading, waxing, manicure, and pedicure. This is a fantastic opportunity for those who cannot afford to send their children abroad; they can come here and learn,” she said.
RSETI director Munish Sharma indicated that over 30 candidates participated in the month-long training course.
“We operate under the Ministry of Rural Development to provide skill enhancement training to unemployed rural youth. We offer quality training along with free accommodation for those traveling from distant areas. Our goal is to enable youth to become self-reliant and independent,” he explained.
It is noteworthy that the Rural Self Employment Training Institutes (RSETIs) are managed by banks and are well-equipped to train rural youth, including those living Below Poverty Line (BPL).
Currently, there are 64 sanctioned training programs by the National Council for Vocational Education and Training (NCVET) and the Ministry of Rural Development (MoRD), allowing candidates to select programs suited to their interests.
