Burhanpur (Madhya Pradesh), Aug 10 (NationPress) As part of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ongoing initiative for women's empowerment, rural women in Burhanpur district are embarking on a journey towards self-reliance. With support from the Ministry of Rural Development, a specialized beauty parlour training program is underway at the RSETI (Rural Self Employment Training Institutes) for numerous housewives and young girls across the district.
This three-month training course is tailored for women eager to acquire new skills and establish their own small businesses. Women from various villages are participating with enthusiasm, gaining technical knowledge in beauty services such as hair styling, makeup, facials, and skin care.
The primary aim of this initiative is to foster economic independence among rural women, empowering them to contribute to their household income and take charge of their livelihoods. Not only does the program enhance their technical abilities, but it also nurtures self-confidence and motivates them to aspire for greater achievements.
Roshni Dayaram Pawar, a participant, expressed, “I’m thrilled to be learning something so valuable. This training is paving the way for a future where I can support myself and my family. We are provided with free accommodation and meals.”
Kirti Sanju Kushwaha, another young trainee, noted, “I’ve always wanted to open my own parlour. Thanks to this opportunity, I now possess the skills and confidence to achieve that.”
Jai Shri Mahendra Kushwaha, a fellow trainee, remarked, “This training is earning me respect within my family and society. I am thankful to the government for this support.”
Roshni Kushwaha shared similar feelings, stating, “This program has revolutionized my mindset. I now believe I can achieve financial independence.”
This initiative is part of a larger government vision to create a 'Sashakt Bharat' (Empowered India) by equipping rural women with practical skills and livelihood prospects.
Gopal Krishna, Director of RSETI, mentioned that the institute has been operational since 2011 and has been housed in its current facility since 2016. RSETI is committed to providing residential, vocational training at no cost to women, particularly those from rural backgrounds.
“At present, a Junior Beautician Training Course is in progress, with 31 women enrolled from different villages across the district. Notably, a previous batch recently completed a stitching course on August 3rd, highlighting the variety of skills being taught. The institute serves women aged 18 to 45 years, offering short-term programs aimed at equipping them with practical skills for employment,” Krishna explained.
A significant aspect of RSETI is that, after training, women receive support in obtaining bank loans to establish their own businesses. This financial connection is crucial in transforming training into real economic empowerment, he added.
Kshama Das, an RSETI official, underscored that all training at the institute is entirely free. She remarked that this initiative aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a 'Sashakt Bharat' (Empowered India)—a vision where women play a pivotal role. She noted that many women from diverse areas of the district are enrolled in the beauty parlour course, with numerous participants preparing to start their own establishments.
By achieving financial self-sufficiency, these women are not only changing their lives but also contributing to the broader national goal of women-led development.
All participants expressed heartfelt gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Ministry of Rural Development for making such transformative opportunities available in rural India.
