Nagpur, March 30 (NationPress) Prime Minister Narendra Modi stated on Sunday that the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) serves as the contemporary 'Akshay Vat' of India's eternal culture, continuously invigorating the nation.
He commended the RSS's altruistic contributions across various domains and its significant role in nation-building, social service, and cultural preservation.
“The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh acts as the modern Akshay Vat of India's immortal culture; this Akshay Vat consistently rejuvenates our cultural heritage and national awareness,” he remarked during his address following the foundation stone laying of the Madhav Netralaya Premium Centre, a new extension of the Madhav Netralaya Eye Institute & Research Centre.
“The principles that were instilled a century ago now flourish globally like a ‘Vat Vriksh’. The ideologies and values provide it with stature, while the countless swayamsevaks form its branches. The RSS is not merely a banyan tree; it embodies the modern ‘Akshay Vat Vriksh’ of India's eternal culture,” asserted the Prime Minister.
“We have embraced the life mantra of duty, guided by the principles of Dev to Desh and Ram to Rashtra. We remain dedicated to our responsibilities. This commitment, regardless of the task's size or field, drives the Sangh (RSS) volunteers to serve selflessly. Our being is dedicated to charity and service, and when this service becomes ingrained in our sanskaar, it transforms into sadhna. This sadhna is the essence of every volunteer's life,” he stated.
“This service, sanskar, sadhna, this essence continually motivates every volunteer towards penance and discipline, passing through generations. This service, sadhna invigorates every volunteer, ensuring they neither tire nor halt,” the Prime Minister emphasized.
“Examining our nation's history reveals centuries of oppression, numerous invasions, and brutal attempts to dismantle India's social fabric, yet the spirit of India remained undaunted, its flame persisted. Even in dire times, new social movements emerged in India to keep consciousness alive,” he explained.
“The Bhakti movement exemplifies this; during the challenging medieval era, our saints revitalized our national consciousness through devotion. Today, in this sacred journey of Sangh service in Nagpur, we are witnessing the growth of a service driven by a noble resolution. The Kul Geet of Madhav Netralaya highlights that this is an exceptional institution of spirituality, knowledge, and pride. This service temple is devoted to humanity; a temple exists in every aspect,” he noted.
He mentioned that Madhav Netralaya has been dedicated to serving millions, adhering to the ideals of Pujya Guruji Madhavrao Sadashivrao Golwalkar, the second sarsanghchalak of RSS, for decades.
PM Modi's commendation of the RSS and its swayamsevaks' contributions to nation-building surfaces as the RSS prepares to celebrate its centenary with a series of events spanning 12 months, commencing on Vijayadasami Day.
Earlier, PM Modi visited Dr. Hedgewar Smruti Mandir in Nagpur and paid homage at memorials honoring Keshav Baliram Hedgewar, the founder of RSS, and M. S. Golwalkar, the second sarsanghchalak.
