Bengaluru, March 23 (NationPress) The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) stated on Sunday that the Union government has implemented various administrative measures to restore normalcy in Manipur, which has instilled hope for peace in the area.

“We are pleased that the government has taken steps to manage the situation, and the local populace is beginning to find some relief. We look forward to further such initiatives from the government, ensuring different segments of society in Manipur can coexist peacefully. While we have not requested any specific actions, it is ultimately the government's responsibility to decide based on its evaluations,” remarked Dattatreya Hosabale during a press briefing for the Akhil Bhartiya Pratinidhi Sabha (ABPS) meeting in Bengaluru.

He further noted that the government has enacted President’s Rule, dissolved the state government, and initiated various administrative actions such as disarming citizens and reopening essential highways.

“We possess the right to advocate for certain measures, and the Sangh has highlighted the urgency of addressing the situation in Manipur. However, we have not delineated specific actions that should be undertaken. Our only suggestion was for the prompt resolution of the issues in Manipur. The government will make its choices based on its assessment,” he elaborated.

On the Malegaon blast case, Hosabale commented that it is currently sub judice, making it inappropriate to discuss further.

Previously, a lawyer for one of the accused informed the court that an officer from the Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS), Muijibur Rahman, had documented that in 2008, he was directed by a senior officer to arrest RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat concerning the case.

Regarding the BJP presidential election, Hosabale mentioned that the RSS operates 35 organizations, yet the press seldom questions them.

“We regard all of them equally as they contribute to the nation. These are independent entities, and while our volunteers may participate, they govern their operations independently. We do not expect the BJP to seek our consent. It is their duty to manage their activities as per their schedule. We abstain from interference, and it’s not within our purview. Our pracharaks serve in numerous locations, but their numbers are limited. These organizations are self-sufficient, well-trained, and capable of managing their affairs without needing our approval,” he asserted.
