Is the Son of a Foreign Woman Unfit to Rule? Sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur Speaks Out
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Bhopal, Jan 23 (NationPress) BJP leader and ex-MP Sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur stated on Friday that the offspring of a foreign woman is unqualified to lead, a comment likely to ignite political controversy.
In an interview with IANS, Thakur remarked, “In our society, in our nation, what can I express? Chanakya, a remarkable philosopher, asserted something that cannot be incorrect. He claimed that the offspring of a foreign woman is not suited to govern.”
She elaborated, “A genuine patriot, who is capable of governance, should inherently stem from our own lineage. Therefore, this assertion cannot be dismissed as false, nor should it be disregarded by future generations. That is its essence.”
Criticizing the Congress party, the former MP mentioned their lack of ideological foundation. “Congress members lack any ideology. They are currently facing consequences due to their past actions. Hence, I assert that their words lack credibility,” she conveyed to IANS.
Continuing her critique, Thakur stated, “Anyone who labels saffron as terrorism or Hindus as terrorists— I do not accept anything from such a person. Their character is entirely distinct and erroneous. They occasionally commend the RSS, while at other times they attack it, as evident from a book regarding the 26/11 attacks where they termed the RSS as terrorists and murderers, alleging it was an RSS conspiracy.”
She declared that such statements are insignificant. “The utterances of that individual hold no value; they lack credibility everywhere. Thus, such declarations are meaningless. No matter what is said, if it lacks certainty, it holds no worth,” she stated.
On matters of faith, Sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur asserted, “There exists no other faith; the only religion is Sanatan. This Sanatan faith has faced attacks. There are various beliefs and sects, but the only true religion is - Sanatan. Therefore, we must never accept any other faith.”
Referring to recent events regarding religious disputes in Bhojshala in the Dhar district, she lamented that compromises continue even after many years of independence.
“We should no longer be compelled to compromise. However, I would like to address the Supreme Court: we accept your arrangements, but we seek a permanent resolution. We desire uninterrupted darshan, and there should be no additional activities surrounding our temples,” she emphasized.
The Supreme Court on Thursday issued directives to ensure that Basant Panchami poojas and Friday Juma Namaz occur peacefully at the Bhoj Shala–Kamal Maula complex in Dhar, Madhya Pradesh, where a dispute exists between two communities over the religious identity of the structure.
