Neemuch (Madhya Pradesh), Dec 16 (NationPress) In a country as extensive as India, the working class is undeniably the backbone of the economy. However, individuals in the unorganised sector have historically encountered economic instability, risks from accidents, and insufficient social support. To tackle these issues, the Madhya Pradesh government has introduced the Chief Minister Jan Kalyan (Sambal) Yojana, which is now recognized as a robust social security framework and serves as a national model.
The significant advantages of this program were evident on Tuesday in Neemuch district when Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, using a single-click system, allocated Rs 160 crore to the bank accounts of 7,227 labourer families statewide. Among them, 84 worker families from Neemuch district received a total assistance of Rs 1 crore 74 lakh, directly credited to their accounts. This aid transcends mere financial support; it embodies dignity, security, and faith in governance.
The Sambal Yojana is designed to shield unorganised workers from life's unpredictabilities. The scheme offers financial assistance in instances of natural or accidental death, permanent disability, maternity aid for women workers, and funeral support. These provisions are crucial for providing relief and stability to families of labourers during challenging periods.
A live broadcast from the NIC Hall in Neemuch underscored the government's commitment to transparency and the utilization of technology for direct benefit transfer to recipients. The presence of labour department officials and worker families highlighted the scheme's profound grassroots impact.
Nandalal Rathore, a beneficiary from Lasur village, expressed gratitude, stating that his father, Amritlal Rathore, passed away on June 21, 2024. “Today, the Sambal assistance amount of Rs 2 lakh has been transferred to my account through a single click by the Chief Minister. I am thankful to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Mohan Yadav for this support,” he mentioned.
Another beneficiary, Tarun Ahirwar from Neemuch city, shared his story about his father, a daily wage labourer, who tragically lost his life in a road accident a year ago. “Today, under the Sambal Yojana, Rs 4 lakh is being provided through online transfer. This assistance will be instrumental in helping my family navigate financial hardships. I sincerely thank the Chief Minister and the Prime Minister,” he expressed.
Neemuch District Labour Inspector Sajjan Singh Chauhan stated that through the Chief Minister's single-click process, Rs 1 crore 74 lakh was shared among 84 beneficiary families in the district. He clarified that the scheme targets workers from economically disadvantaged backgrounds involved in the unorganised sector.
“The Sambal Yojana provides Rs 2 lakh in cases of natural death, Rs 4 lakh in instances of accidental death, and Rs 2 lakh in cases of permanent disability,” he noted.
The Sambal Yojana remains a protective barrier for labour families, boosting their confidence, ensuring social security, and paving the way for self-sufficiency and inclusive development in Madhya Pradesh.
