New Delhi, June 24 (NationPress) BJP MP Jagdambika Pal sharply condemned Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut for his comments implying that India should take lessons from Iran. Pal claimed that both Raut and the Congress party consistently aim to disparage India through such public declarations.
Raut previously praised Iran's reaction to US strikes on its nuclear sites, describing the nation as an embodiment of self-respect and courage. His statements sparked strong backlash from the BJP, especially amid rising tensions in the Middle East.
“Iran exemplifies true self-respect and courage. It has consistently supported India during crises, whether concerning Kashmir or issues with Pakistan. Iran has never submitted to anyone. India should take a page from Iran’s book,” Raut expressed during a media interaction on Tuesday.
In response, BJP leader Jagdambika Pal stated to IANS, “Whether it’s Sanjay Raut or the Congress party, they always seek to humiliate our nation with such comments. Currently, the world is drawing lessons from India. We executed precise operations in Pakistan, destroying nine terrorist bases, including those of Lashkar-e-Taiba and Hizbul Mujahideen. Eleven of their air bases were neutralized, leading Pakistan to remain silent and plead with the world.”
He continued, “If they reference Iran, Israel, Ukraine, or Russia, they should recall how Pakistan once sought a Nobel Peace Prize for Donald Trump, only to later criticize the US. India’s stance is clear—we are non-aligned and advocate for peace rather than war as a means to resolve global conflicts.”
Pal also addressed Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav’s comments regarding law and order in Uttar Pradesh.
“The law and order in Uttar Pradesh today ranks among the best in the nation. If anyone breaks the law or disrespects others, the administration will take strict measures,” he asserted.
On the topic of Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi’s recent overseas trip, Pal criticized his frequent absences.
“He may travel abroad, but during Parliament sessions, he should be present as the LoP. Even when he is there, he seldom discusses key issues in the House and prefers to speak only outside,” Pal remarked.
Congress leader Pawan Khera defended Gandhi’s visit, explaining he was in London for his niece Miraya Vadra’s graduation ceremony, daughter of Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and Robert Vadra.
Earlier in March, BJP MP Ravi Shankar Prasad questioned the frequency and nature of Gandhi’s international trips, claiming they were “undisclosed” and “unbecoming” of someone in such a significant constitutional role.
