Mumbai, Oct 31 (NationPress) Shiv Sena(UBT) MP and chief spokesperson Sanjay Raut announced on Friday that he will completely withdraw from public life for the next two months due to health concerns.
In a letter shared with friends, family, and supporters on social media platform X, Raut expressed, "Your unwavering faith and affection have always been my strength. However, I must inform you that my health has seriously deteriorated. I am currently undergoing treatment, and per medical advice, I must refrain from public gatherings. This is essential for my recovery, and I look forward to reconnecting with all of you in the new year."
Raut, who has been a prominent figure in the Shiv Sena(UBT) during the formation of the party-led government and following the split, remains optimistic about his return next year.
His decision comes just before an opposition protest in Mumbai on Saturday, aiming to draw attention to irregularities in electoral rolls and to protest against alleged "vote theft".
Raut, who regularly held morning press conferences at his residence, notably missed this engagement on Friday.
Sources from his family later informed the press that Raut had been admitted to a local hospital for further medical evaluation.
Upon learning of Raut's health status, Thackeray group's deputy leader Sushma Andhare offered her prayers for his speedy recovery, stating, "Wishing you a swift return to health. Even if we can't meet in person, your guidance is crucial in our ongoing struggle against powerful adversaries over the next two months."
Andhare continued, "When our party faced attacks from all fronts, you were there to defend it. The people of Maharashtra recognize what a true ally entails. Your recovery is vital not just for Shiv Sainiks but for every individual suffering under the BJP's oppressive rule."
She emphasized that Raut has the support and blessings of many across the community.
The state BJP media in-charge, Navnath Ban, also conveyed his well wishes, stating, "Wishing you a quick recovery, Sanjay Raut. We look forward to your return to the public sphere for press conferences once again."
