Bhopal, Feb 1 (NationPress) Madhya Pradesh Minister of Sports and Youth Welfare, Vishwas Sarang, praised the Union Budget 2025 unveiled by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, describing it as both development-focused and welfare-oriented.

In an interview with IANS, Sarang commended the budget's emphasis on diverse sectors, highlighting its dedication to the well-being of the poor, youth, farmers, and women.

"This budget prioritizes GYANGarib, Yuva, Annadata, and Nari Shakti," Sarang stated.

He added, "The welfare of every demographic and the progress of all sectors are encapsulated in this budget. New initiatives have been introduced for education, healthcare, agriculture, and farmers. The credit limit for farmers has been enhanced to Rs 5 lakh, which is a notable advancement."

Sarang further asserted that the budget aims to fortify India's infrastructure, setting the stage for the nation to emerge as a developed economy by 2047.

He expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman for their visionary leadership in formulating this progressive budget.

In comparison, Sarang dismissed Congress MP Rahul Gandhi's criticisms of the Union Budget, labeling his remarks as unfounded and misleading.

The Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, had raised concerns about the insufficient representation of marginalized groups in the budgetary decision-making.

"Rahul ji lacks a fundamental understanding of budgeting," Sarang asserted, adding, "his critique is both negative and ill-informed. The budget has made meaningful progress for farmers, co-operatives, and the youth, standing firm in all aspects."

In a significant relief for the Indian middle class, FM Sitharaman announced on Saturday that there will be no income tax for earnings up to Rs 12 lakh, and Rs 12.75 lakh for salaried individuals (including standard deduction).

The newly revised tax structure includes: Rs 0-4 lakh (no tax), Rs 4-8 lakh (5%), Rs 8-12 lakh (10%), Rs 12-16 lakh (15%), Rs 16-20 lakh (20%), Rs 20-24 lakh (25%), and above Rs 24 lakh (30%).
