New Delhi, April 28 (NationPress) The Supreme Court on Monday dismissed an application that sought to revoke its earlier ruling, which had granted bail to DMK leader and former Tamil Nadu minister Senthil Balaji in connection with a money laundering investigation tied to an alleged cash-for-jobs scandal.
A communication from Raj Bhavan confirming Balaji's resignation, who previously held the position of Minister for Electricity, Prohibition, and Excise in the Tamil Nadu government, was presented to a panel of Justices Abhay S. Oka and A.G. Masih.
The bench, led by Justice Oka, had instructed the senior DMK figure on April 23 to make a choice between retaining his ministerial role and maintaining his bail status in the money laundering case. This directive was based on claims that Balaji might be able to sway witnesses due to his ministerial authority.
