For Dilip Sayaji Shejwal, a farmer from Shingave village, the PM-KUSUM scheme has been transformative. He reflects on his previous difficulties due to inconsistent power supply, which made timely irrigation challenging and negatively impacted crop yields.

“Previously, I struggled to water my crops on time due to power outages. Now, with the solar pump I received through the PM-KUSUM initiative, that challenge is resolved. I can irrigate my fields promptly, leading to improved crop production,” said Dilip, expressing his appreciation for the government's support. He extended his gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for this initiative.

Another recipient, Yogesh Vasantrao Wable, also benefited from a solar pump provided by the scheme. He now waters his farmland independently of grid electricity, resulting in a significant decrease in operational costs.

“Using the solar pump for irrigation has liberated me from the burden of electricity outages and lowered my farming expenses. These savings have positively impacted my income,” shared Yogesh, noting that the initiative has made farming more sustainable and less burdensome.

The PM-KUSUM scheme is structured to provide clean, reliable, and cost-effective energy to farmers for irrigation through solar power, thereby diminishing their reliance on diesel and unstable electricity supply. Consequently, farmers are saving money on fuel and energy while enhancing their productivity.
