What Security Measures Are in Place for PM Modi's Visit to J&K?

Jammu, June 5 (NationPress) A robust security framework has been established in anticipation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s forthcoming visit to Jammu and Kashmir on Friday, where he will inaugurate the Vande Bharat train service to the Valley.

This intricate security plan comprises personnel from the Special Protection Group (SPG), army, Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs), and J&K Police, ensuring the safety of the PM during this significant event.

Heightened vigilance surrounds PM Modi’s visit, marking his first trip to J&K following Operation Sindoor.

The extensive deployment of security forces is evident throughout Jammu city and the Reasi district, particularly along the railway route from Katra to Baramulla in Kashmir.

All strategic locations along the mountainous railway corridor have been secured by military and associated security teams, while the track is monitored by CAPFs equipped with cutting-edge technology, including drones, sniffer dogs, and night vision devices.

“Every precaution is being taken to ensure the Prime Minister's visit is secure. Every aspect of security has been meticulously addressed. This historic occasion in J&K is safeguarded for the substantial crowds expected to participate,” stated a senior officer overseeing the security measures.

In addition to launching the Vande Bharat train service, Prime Minister Modi will lay the foundation and inaugurate numerous development initiatives valued at over Rs 46,000 crore.

On Friday, Modi will flag off two Vande Bharat Express trains from the Mata Vaishno Devi base camp in Katra to Srinagar and back.

Railway officials indicated that these trains will provide a fast, comfortable, and reliable travel alternative for residents, tourists, and pilgrims.

The Prime Minister will also inaugurate various road projects aimed at enhancing last-mile connectivity, particularly in border regions of Jammu and Kashmir.

The foundation stone-laying and inauguration will occur virtually from Katra.

Among the projects included are the road widening from Rafiabad to Kupwara on the National Highway and the construction of the Shopian bypass, valued at over Rs 1,952 crore.

The foundation ceremony will also encompass two flyover projects located at Sangrama Junction and Bemina Junction on the National Highway, designed to alleviate traffic congestion.

The Prime Minister is set to lay the foundation stone for the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Institute of Medical Excellence in Katra, with a budget exceeding Rs 350 crore, which will be the first medical college in the Reasi district.

Additionally, the Prime Minister will inaugurate the Chenab bridge, visit the bridge deck around 11 a.m. on Friday, and then unveil the Anji bridge, the first cable-stayed railway bridge in India.

By noon, Modi will flag off the Vande Bharat Trains from Katra Railway Station.

The Vande Bharat train is expected to reduce travel time between Katra and Srinagar to approximately three hours, cutting current travel times by 2-3 hours.

Moreover, the Prime Minister will dedicate the Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla Rail Link (USBRL) project to the nation. This 272-km project, costing about Rs 43,780 crore, includes 36 tunnels (totaling 119 km) and 943 bridges.

This project will establish reliable, all-weather rail connectivity between the Kashmir valley and the rest of India, aiming to enhance regional mobility and foster socio-economic integration.

A dream unfulfilled for over 70 years will become a reality on Friday as PM Modi pens another chapter in India’s journey toward becoming the world's third-largest economy, driven by unwavering commitment and visionary leadership.
