Why Was Sharad Pawar Admitted to Ruby Hall Clinic?
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Pune, Feb 9 (NationPress) Sharad Pawar, the president of the Nationalist Congress Party (Sharad Pawar faction), was admitted to Ruby Hall Clinic at approximately 4 pm on Monday.
He was accompanied by his wife, Pratibha Pawar, daughter Supriya Sule, son-in-law Sadanand Sule, and grandson Rohit Pawar. The attending physician, Dr. Abhijeet Lodha, has performed a preliminary medical examination on Pawar.
According to a post from Sule on X, “Baba has developed chest congestion and will require a 5-day course of antibiotics. Thankfully, all other vital signs are normal. I appreciate all your good wishes and ongoing support, and I extend my heartfelt gratitude to the doctors.”
The initial evaluation indicates that Pawar's heart rate and oxygen levels remain stable, although his respiratory rate is slightly elevated. There is a chance he may need to stay under hospital observation for one day. In the meantime, party members have been asked to refrain from gathering at the hospital. Sule also discussed the treatment protocol with the doctors, emphasizing adherence to hospital guidelines, as stated in the NCP SP release.
Dr. Abhijeet Lodha from Ruby Hall Clinic addressed the media, confirming, “Sharad Pawar's condition is stable. His preliminary examination has been finalized. Since his oxygen levels and heart rate are within normal limits, there is no immediate cause for concern. Following a period of extensive travel and engagements, he has experienced fatigue. Due to some chest congestion, a respiratory assessment was also conducted. He has been placed in a private room and does not require oxygen support or a ventilator. Further test results will be available in the next two to three hours, at which point the Pawar family will determine the next course of action.”
NCP SP legislator Rohit Pawar mentioned, “In the last ten to twelve days, Sharad Pawar has had a very busy schedule. Due to physical exhaustion and mild breathing difficulties, he was admitted to Ruby Hall Clinic in his private vehicle. Doctors have conducted all necessary tests, and the results have come back normal. I personally spoke to the doctors. Supriya Sule also insisted that treatment must strictly follow the hospital's protocol. Once we receive the remaining test reports, we will decide whether to keep him in Pune or transfer him to Mumbai.”
Given that Ruby Hall Clinic serves numerous patients daily, an appeal has been made to party members to avoid crowding the hospital, as stated by Rohit Pawar to the media.
