Mumbai, March 5 (NationPress) The Shiv Sena Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray (UBT) expressed on Thursday that the sudden resignation of former Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar illustrates a disturbing pattern of diminishing the significance of constitutional roles. As he resumes speaking, the nation is eager for clarity regarding the events that unfolded behind the scenes in Parliament during his resignation.

“After a long period of absence from public engagements following his unexpected resignation last year, Dhankhar re-emerged in a recent address in Rajasthan, asserting that his departure was not health-related, which contradicts the official stance of the government. Speaking in Churu, Rajasthan, last week, he appeared in vibrant health and outright dismissed the medical rationale for his resignation,” the Uddhav Thackeray-led party stated in their publication 'Saamana'.

An editorial in Saamana cited Dhankhar's words: “A healthy body is the first source of happiness. I have never overlooked my health. At the time of my resignation, I did not claim to be ill.” This statement raises questions about whether he was pressured into signing his resignation letter. The editorial suggested that his abrupt ousting might have been a reaction to his private discussions with opposition parties. Reports of 'intense exchanges' from these talks allegedly reached Prime Minister Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah, prompting the conclusion that the Vice President needed “immediate rest.”

“While numerous cabinet members are not in optimal health, they remain in their positions despite various scandals. There appears to be a trend of appointing individuals who will comply with the government's wishes, only to dismiss them when they display any form of resistance,” the editorial articulated.

The Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena pointed out that judicial decisions suggest that bodies like the CBI, which “illegally” detained Kejriwal and his associates, are not functioning effectively.

“Despite Union Minister Puri’s name appearing in the 'Epstein Files', the government has not acted on his resignation or removed him from office. Conversely, the Modi-Shah duo swiftly orchestrated the ousting of Vice President Dhankhar. In light of the Pulwama and Pahalgam attacks, the Prime Minister and Home Minister have lost any moral authority to remain in power, yet they persist. However, Dhankhar's term as Vice President was abruptly ended, with health cited as the reason for his removal,” it noted.

As per the editorial, with Dhankhar's recent recovery and reappearance, it is a positive development. He must now enlighten the nation about his health and the treatment he underwent over the past six months. He should also provide insights into the occurrences behind closed doors in his parliamentary office on July 25 of last year when he resigned.
