Bagalkot, April 4 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Karnataka, Siddaramaiah, has strongly criticized the BJP during the bypoll campaign, alleging that the BJP government has exacerbated the divide between the affluent and the impoverished.
In a public address, he stated: “Our administration has launched multiple initiatives aimed at empowering the underprivileged, investing Rs 1.31 lakh crore in these efforts over the past three years.”
The Congress party has consistently advocated for the welfare of marginalized groups, including women, Dalits, and minorities, he noted.
Siddaramaiah condemned the BJP’s ‘Vibrant Gujarat’ model, claiming that it has solely favored large corporations and widened the economic gap.
He emphasized that the Congress has a longstanding commitment to supporting the poor and underprivileged.
“The Congress party was instrumental in securing India’s independence, and it’s now time for the populace to show their support,” he remarked.
He further criticized Prime Minister Modi, alleging that he made numerous promises in 2014 that he has failed to fulfill.
“He vowed to recover black money and deposit Rs 15 lakh in every household, but those promises remain unfulfilled,” he stated.
The Chief Minister urged the community to vote for Umesh Meti, highlighting the contributions of his late father, H.Y. Meti, towards Bagalkot’s development and the need to realize his vision.
He also announced the establishment of a medical college in Bagalkot, addressing one of H.Y. Meti's long-standing demands.
Siddaramaiah underlined the significance of social justice, asserting that the Congress party is dedicated to empowering marginalized communities.
“We must strive to strengthen every individual socially and educationally, ensuring the success of our political freedom,” he concluded.
