Bagalkot, April 4 (NationPress) Karnataka's Chief Minister, Siddaramaiah, expressed on Saturday that he is being targeted by the RSS and Manuvadis due to his opposition to inequality.

Speaking at an event organized by the Karnataka Shoshita Samudayagala Mahaa Okkuta (Karnataka Oppressed Communities Federation) in Bagalkot, he stated, “I face attacks from the RSS and Manuvadis because I advocate against inequality and support the marginalised. They are attempting to undermine me through Pratap Simha.”

The Chief Minister further criticized the BJP and RSS, asserting, “The Congress is the sole party that brings together farmers, laborers, and marginalized groups.”

“Our party is dedicated to empowering the underprivileged and ensuring economic and social freedom for everyone,” he continued.

Siddaramaiah emphasized, “Ambedkar envisioned economic and social freedom for all, and we are striving towards that goal.”

He urged attendees to distinguish between the Congress and the BJP, stating, “The Congress champions the poor and marginalized, whereas the BJP aligns with corporates and the affluent.”

He highlighted his administration's initiatives, such as loan waivers for marginalized communities and economic growth schemes.

He encouraged the crowd to support Congress candidate Umesh Meti in the upcoming by-election, stressing, “We must ensure the BJP is defeated, and Umesh Meti emerges victorious.”

Earlier, Siddaramaiah criticized the BJP’s 'Vibrant Gujarat' model, arguing it has only benefited corporate entities and widened the wealth gap.

He added that the Congress has consistently fought for the impoverished and marginalized.

“The Congress has granted freedom to this nation, and it is now time for the people to reciprocate,” he remarked.

“The BJP has never contributed to the freedom struggle and has little to show for their nine years in power in Karnataka,” he concluded.

Siddaramaiah also took a jab at PM Modi, claiming that he made numerous promises in 2014 but has failed to fulfill them.

“He vowed to repatriate black money and deposit ₹15 lakh in every household, but nothing has materialized,” he added.

Point of View

CM Siddaramaiah's remarks reflect the ongoing political tensions in Karnataka, where party lines are sharply drawn. His defense of marginalized communities positions the Congress party as a champion of equality, contrasting sharply with the BJP's corporate-friendly policies. This rhetoric resonates with a significant portion of the electorate, particularly in the context of upcoming elections.
