Bengaluru, March 21 (NationPress) Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah declared on Friday that there is absolutely no question of shielding anyone regarding the honey trap controversy.

This statement was made following inquiries from Leader of the Opposition R. Ashoka, former Home Minister and BJP MLA Araga Jnanendra, MLA V. Sunil Kumar, and Minister K. N. Rajanna about the honey trap allegations.

They urged for the dismissal of those accountable and called for a judicial inquiry.

Minister Rajanna, who stands for the Scheduled Castes, raised the honey trap accusations, which prompted state Home Minister G. Parameshwara to announce a high-level investigation.

"The government must ensure that justice prevails and that those who are guilty face consequences under the law. If Minister Rajanna submits a complaint, a thorough investigation will take place, as assured by the Home Minister. There is no need to revisit this issue," Parameshwara stated.

He added, "Minister Rajanna did not specify any individuals. Had he named anyone, appropriate action could have been initiated."

CM Siddaramaiah emphasized again that there is no question of protecting anyone.

This assertion gained significance following BJP MLA N. Munirathna's claims that Deputy CM D. K. Shivakumar is linked to the honey trap network in the state.

MLA Munirathna stated, "I wish to advise Dy CM Shivakumar. I am aware of your honey trap team. I know when you convene their meetings at odd hours. You have a family and should not engage in such disgraceful actions."

Meanwhile, Minister Rajanna claimed in the House on Thursday that political adversaries attempted to honey trap him, necessitating an investigation.

In response to the BJP's call for an investigation, Parameshwara confirmed that a high-level probe would be initiated.

"This concerns the dignity of every member of this House. We must put an end to this," he stressed.

The issue ignited intense discussions in the Legislative Assembly, leading to emotional exchanges among members regarding the matter.
