New Delhi, Dec 3 (NationPress) The Election Commission of India (ECI) announced remarkable advancements in Phase II of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, with 99.83 percent of Enumeration Forms (EFs) already disseminated across 12 states and Union Territories.
As reported in the Daily Bulletin, the nationwide distribution of EFs has demonstrated strong field engagement from Booth Level Officers (BLOs) and active involvement from Booth Level Agents (BLAs).
During this enumeration phase, which is ongoing from November 4 to December 11 (the previous deadline was December 4), a total of 50.88 crore EFs have been distributed out of the eligible 50.97 crore electors.
The digitisation of EFs has also accelerated recently, with 47.54 crore forms digitised so far, resulting in an overall digitisation rate of 93.27 percent.
Goa, Lakshadweep, and Andaman and Nicobar have achieved a flawless 100 percent distribution of EFs, with Rajasthan following closely at 99.97 percent, Madhya Pradesh at 99.95 percent, West Bengal at 99.94 percent, and Chhattisgarh at 99.91 percent.
Uttar Pradesh, the largest state by electorate size, has reached 99.87 percent EF distribution, covering more than 15.42 crore electors.
However, UP is lagging in digitisation, reporting only 85.33 percent (or 13.27 crore EFs).
Other states include Kerala with 99.13 percent, Gujarat at 99.88 percent, Tamil Nadu at 99.61 percent, and Puducherry with 99.77 percent.
In West Bengal, 7.65 crore electors or 99.94 percent EFs have been distributed, with 98.29 percent of EFs digitised, according to an ECI statement.
The Election Commission has urged recognised political parties to appoint additional Booth Level Agents to expedite verification and digitisation.
Notably, the figures from Rajasthan do not account for the Anta Assembly constituency, where the revision was postponed due to a by-election.
The poll body stated that it will continue to issue scheduled bulletins as the revision process moves toward its December 11 deadline.
