Rajkot, March 23 (NationPress) Ashok Makwana, a farmer from Khambhala village in Paddhari taluka, has endured significant challenges in irrigating his fields due to unpredictable power supply. However, his life has taken a remarkable turn, thanks to solar panels.

These solar panels have revolutionized his farming practices, allowing him to irrigate his fields at his convenience and significantly reducing his reliance on inconsistent electricity.

Today, Ashok Makwana feels a sense of relief and is encouraging fellow farmers to take advantage of the government’s solar panel initiative.

In an interview with IANS, he shared: "Regardless of the weather conditions, be it during the monsoon or summer, the solar panel operates effectively. I can irrigate my land at any time, and my electricity bill has dropped to zero, which has greatly alleviated my financial burdens."

"The solar panel functions exceptionally well, and I no longer worry about electricity issues. It is an incredibly beneficial and cost-effective solution. Although its efficiency slightly diminishes on cloudy days, it continues to operate consistently," he added.

He referred to this initiative as a blessing for farmers, urging others to install solar panels to enjoy its advantages. He emphasized that this would not only lower electricity expenses but also empower agricultural efforts.

Several months ago, facing increasing power challenges, he opted to install solar panels under the Prime Minister's Kusum Yojana.

This pivotal decision has transformed his lifestyle.

With approximately nine bighas of land, he now irrigates his fields using solar panels.

Thanks to solar panels, he can water his fields without incurring costs. Previously, he had to depend on electricity for irrigation. Moreover, the process of filling wells and borewells has become significantly easier with the assistance of solar panels.

"They are also advantageous for the drip irrigation system, a sustainable agricultural method focused on water conservation," he remarked.
