Chennai, Nov 26 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, M.K. Stalin, inaugurated a newly constructed stadium featuring a full-length statue of the renowned freedom fighter Maaveeran Pollan at Modakkurichi in the Erode district of Jayaramapuram on Wednesday.
This memorial facility is dedicated to celebrating the legacy of the region’s esteemed independence hero, and its inauguration was attended by ministers, officials, and local community members.
Following this event, Stalin addressed a gathering at the newly established Erode Solar New Bus Complex, where he officially unveiled 790 completed projects, including a state-of-the-art solar-powered bus stand worth Rs 235.73 crore, aimed at enhancing transit infrastructure and fostering sustainable mobility in the district.
During the ceremony, he also laid the foundation stone for 23 additional projects valued at Rs 91.9 crore and distributed government welfare assistance to 1,84,491 beneficiaries, totaling Rs 605.44 crore, of which Rs 278.62 crore is specifically allocated for Erode district.
Stalin emphasized the extensive development initiatives undertaken in Erode over the past four years, indicating that projects worth Rs 9,327 crore have been executed. He assured that all pending projects previously announced for Erode would be completed by December 10.
In a significant announcement, the Chief Minister revealed that the iconic Rs 1,000 Monthly Rights Scheme for Women in Tamil Nadu will now include eligible women who were previously excluded, enabling them to receive Rs 1,000 per month starting December 15. He reiterated his government's commitment to fulfilling all electoral promises made to the populace.
Stalin took a critical stance against the Union BJP government, accusing it of withholding funds from Tamil Nadu while fabricating narratives to justify these rejections. He pointed out that despite the Centre collecting substantial taxes from Tamil Nadu, it fails to allocate sufficient funds for state initiatives.
He also commented on significant terror incidents, such as the Pahalgam and Red Fort attacks, that occurred during BJP governance, questioning the party’s assertions regarding national security. Stalin further alleged that there are intentional efforts to undermine the relationship between the DMK government and the citizens of Tamil Nadu.
Wrapping up his address, the Chief Minister urged the public to confirm their names are accurately recorded in the electoral rolls, stressing the significance of democratic engagement ahead of the upcoming elections.
