Students' Education Should Go Beyond Tests & Evaluations: J&K L-G

Jammu, Dec 8 (NationPress) J&K Lt Governor (L-G) Manoj Sinha stated on Sunday that the learning process for students must not be limited to just tests and evaluations.

During his address at a school's annual function, he highlighted the necessity of a knowledge revolution to propel India towards becoming a developed nation and to ensure sustainable growth across various economic sectors in J&K.

"One of my key objectives is to promote capacity building and transform schools into centres of excellence. We have established a vibrant and competitive learning environment to tap into the innovative ideas of students," he noted.

He also stressed the significant role of teachers in unlocking the latent potential of students.

"Learning should not revolve solely around tests and assessments. It is essential to foster a learning environment that promotes genuine understanding and awareness, connecting the younger generation with moral values and practical life skills. We must synergize the core competencies of J&K's populace for a brighter future. If teachers are not empowered, students will not thrive; and without empowered students, the nation cannot grow strong. Our future strategy should focus on Artificial Intelligence supported classrooms rather than Artificial Intelligence led classrooms," he asserted.

He further emphasized the importance of creating a fruitful teaching-learning ecosystem where educators are not confined to the curriculum but are encouraged to share their experiences and insights with students.

"If teachers are not empowered, students cannot be empowered, and without empowered students, the nation cannot be robust. We are currently witnessing an educational revolution throughout the country," he remarked.

He also discussed the influence of Artificial Intelligence in contemporary education and its potential to enhance teacher-student engagement. He reiterated that AI should be viewed as a supplementary tool, not as a full substitute for teachers.

"Our future strategy should involve Artificial Intelligence supported classrooms instead of Artificial Intelligence led classrooms," he concluded.

Additionally, he honored students who excelled academically and in various fields, unveiling a poster for a Bhajan Video produced by the school's students titled ‘Garud Vahini Vaishnavi’.
