Mumbai, June 5 (NationPress) NCP (SP) MP Supriya Sule addressed the media on Thursday, downplaying her absence from signing a joint letter issued by the opposition bloc INDIA calling for a special session of Parliament regarding the Pahalgam attack. She explained that she was on a four-nation diplomatic tour, representing India under Operation Sindoor.
After her visits to Qatar, Egypt, South Africa, and Ethiopia, Sule, who serves the Baramati constituency in Pune district, stated that her party believes there is no necessity for a debate since 'Operation Sindoor' is still ongoing.
"I was unable to sign the letter due to my commitments abroad, representing our nation. I have placed my trust in India. The tour was fruitful, with leaders from all four nations expressing strong support for India and condemning terrorism," she noted.
Sule mentioned that she has informed Congress leaders of her intention to participate in INDIA bloc meetings following her return.
"We will pose questions to the government regarding the Pahalgam terror attack and Operation Sindoor during the upcoming monsoon session of Parliament," Sule stated.
"I will adhere to the party's stance. How could I hold a different opinion?" she questioned.
She reiterated her father, NCP (SP) chief Sharad Pawar's viewpoint that instead of convening a special session of Parliament, the government should invite leaders from all political parties to discuss sensitive issues involving secrecy and security.
Recently, the 16 opposition parties that form the INDIA bloc sent a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, urging for a special parliamentary session.

Reflecting on her four-nation trip, Sule explained, "The delegation, which included senior leaders from both the BJP and Congress, articulated India's strong position against terrorism and our unwavering commitment to the unity and integrity of the nation. Leaders from the four countries expressed their support for India, firmly condemning the Pahalgam terror attack, and assured continued collaboration against terrorism."
"We remain united against all forms of terrorism and are resolute in protecting every Indian citizen's rights and dignity," she added.
