Chennai, Feb 25 (NationPress) Senior BJP leader Tamilisai Soundararajan clarified that Union Home Minister and BJP leader Amit Shah’s visit to Coimbatore on Tuesday is purely for party-related engagements and not for any governmental duties.

While addressing the media at Chennai airport, Tamilisai remarked, “Amit Shah will engage with party members and devise strategies to bolster the BJP’s influence in Tamil Nadu. This visit is entirely political, and no official announcements are anticipated.”

Addressing the ongoing controversy concerning Hindi in the state, the former Governor of Telangana and Puducherry criticized the DMK for altering railway signages with black paint, labeling it an “act of vandalism” that illustrates “narrow-minded politics harmful to the state’s advancement.”

She denounced the DMK for its hypocrisy, saying, “On one side, they profess to be advocates of the Tamil language, yet on the other, they deface Hindi signages, neglecting the nation’s linguistic diversity.”

Tamilisai also condemned the DMK’s educational policies, claiming a double standard in their approach to language education. She highlighted that while DMK leaders enroll their children in multilingual schools, including Hindi, they resist the three-language policy for others.

“This exemplifies blatant hypocrisy. The citizens of Tamil Nadu are cognizant of this duplicity and will not be misled,” she stated.

In response to Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin’s assertion that his administration has resisted pressure from the Centre, Tamilisai accused the DMK of indulging in “politics of opposition for its own sake.”

She declared, “The DMK’s technique is to oppose every initiative from the central government without evaluating its advantages. This is not governance; it’s obstructive politics.”

Tamilisai also questioned the leadership and political fidelity of Tamil Nadu Congress Committee (TNCC) President, K Selvaperunthagai, following his declaration to raise a black flag during HM Shah’s visit.

She expressed concerns regarding his political allegiance, inquiring, “Is he loyal to Sonia Gandhi or MK Stalin? Congress workers in Tamil Nadu are perplexed, and he needs to clarify his position.”

Moreover, she noted that Selvaperunthagai cancelled his visit to Thiruparankundram at the behest of the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, further raising doubts about his leadership.

Tamilisai concluded by stressing that such political maneuvers pose “serious questions about the leadership of TN Congress and its autonomy.”
