Mumbai, March 4 (NationPress) In light of his recent nomination for the Rajya Sabha, BJP National General Secretary Vinod Tawde took to social media to express his heartfelt appreciation, reaffirming his commitment to the party's objectives and the country. Tawde shared on his X handle, "I extend my infinite gratitude! I sincerely thank the senior leadership and the Central Election Committee for selecting me as a nominee for the Rajya Sabha."
"Guided by the esteemed Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the leadership of National President Nitin Nabin, we stand resolutely committed to advancing the national interest."
He further conveyed his sincere thanks to Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and State President Ravindra Chavan for this nomination, pledging to embrace this new duty with unwavering dedication and loyalty.
The BJP's decision to nominate Vinod Tawde for the Rajya Sabha is regarded as a testament to his organizational skills and steadfast loyalty to the party. His strategic contributions in Bihar and other regions were pivotal in this elevation. Following Nitish Kumar's departure from the NDA in 2022, the BJP entrusted Tawde with the vital role of Bihar Incharge.
In a politically intricate landscape, Tawde fortified the party's framework down to the grassroots level, earning him recognition as a principal architect of the NDA's significant victory in the 2025 Bihar Assembly elections.
Through careful planning, effective social strategies, and seamless collaboration with allies, he secured the NDA's foothold in the state, establishing his status among the top BJP figures in New Delhi.
Vinod Tawde’s political journey commenced as a full-time activist with the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), where he spearheaded student movements at both local and national levels.
He held the position of Mumbai BJP President from 2000 to 2003 and was a longstanding member of the Maharashtra Legislative Council (MLC), serving as the Leader of the Opposition in the Council in 2011.
His responsibilities included key portfolios such as Education, Cultural Affairs, Sports, and Marathi Language in the Devendra Fadnavis Cabinet from 2014 to 2019.
After being denied a ticket in the 2019 Maharashtra Assembly elections, he was later included in the BJP Central Team in 2020.
Since then, he has efficiently managed roles as the incharge for Haryana and Bihar, and is currently the election incharge for Kerala.
The BJP has nominated Tawde from Maharashtra for the upcoming 2026 Rajya Sabha elections, alongside candidates such as Ramdas Athawale, Maya Ivnate, and Ramrao Wadkute.
Given the current strength of the BJP in the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly, Tawde’s success is anticipated. This election marks his debut in the Upper House of Parliament.
