New Delhi, Dec 22 (NationPress) Innovative technologies like drone technology, the Internet of Things (IoT), and cybersecurity are paving the way for new job opportunities for India’s young population, stated Union Minister of State for Electronics and Information Technology and Commerce & Industry, Jitin Prasada, on Monday.
During his address at the Technology and Skill Development Conference at the Atal Bihari Vajpayee NIELIT Extension Centre campus in Pilibhit, Uttar Pradesh, where he served as the Chief Guest, he emphasized the growing significance of technology-based skills in the contemporary job landscape.
“Emerging technologies such as drone technology, Internet of Things (IoT), and cybersecurity are instrumental in generating new job prospects,” he remarked.
He underscored that sectors like drones, IoT, and cybersecurity are unlocking fresh career avenues and motivating the youth toward innovation and entrepreneurship.
“The primary objective of the conference was to foster skill enhancement, innovation, and a startup culture among young individuals through technology,” the minister elaborated.
Referencing the aspirations of Digital India and Atmanirbhar Bharat, Prasada mentioned that institutions like NIELIT are crucial in connecting government policies with their practical application.
“NIELIT is essential in delivering advanced technical education and skill training to remote and semi-urban regions,” he noted.
He believes that skill development aligned with industry demands will position India as a global technology leader.
The conference attracted participation from Members of the Legislative Assembly, senior district and administrative officials, as well as representatives from academia, industry, startup entrepreneurs, and NIELIT officials.
A substantial number of students, trainees, and local youth showed enthusiasm in exploring new technologies and career opportunities.
A standout feature of the conference was a technology exhibition by startups specializing in drone technology, showcasing innovative drone solutions utilized in agriculture, crop monitoring, pesticide spraying, land surveying, mapping, disaster management, surveillance, and logistics.
