Hyderabad, March 23 (NationPress) Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy expressed his warmest congratulations to Prince Rahim Aga Khan for his recent appointment as the 50th imam of the Shia Ismaili Muslim community.
The Chief Minister extended his heartfelt greetings to His Highness Prince Rahim Aga Khan as he steps into the prestigious position of the 50th hereditary Imam of the Shia Ismaili Muslim community and Chair of the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN), as stated by the Chief Minister’s Office.
He emphasized that Telangana holds in high regard the Aga Khan Development Network for its outstanding contributions in fields such as heritage conservation, education, and sustainable development.
The Chief Minister expressed his eagerness to enhance cooperation with AKDN to foster significant advancements, wishing His Highness immense success in his leadership and ongoing commitment to humanity.
Rahim Aga Khan follows in the footsteps of Karim Al-Hussaini Aga Khan, who passed away last month.
Prince Karim Aga Khan IV, the 49th leader of the Ismaili Muslims, died in Lisbon, Portugal on February 4.
The Chief Minister described his passing as an irreparable loss for humanity.
In his condolence message, he highlighted that Karim Aga Khan's invaluable contributions to poverty alleviation, heritage conservation, medical services, and education will resonate for generations.
He also recognized the contributions of the institutions managed by the Aga Khan Foundation in Hyderabad.
The Aga Khan Academy in Hyderabad, established in 2011, is an International Baccalaureate (IB) World School and is the second in the network of Aga Khan Academies.
