Hyderabad, Jan 18 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Telangana, A. Revanth Reddy, urged media organizations on Sunday to refrain from involving Ministers in their conflicts and damaging the reputation of the state government.
While addressing a public gathering in Khammam, he emphasized that media houses should resolve their differences internally without dragging Ministers into their disputes or publishing 'slanderous' narratives.
The Chief Minister's comments were a response to allegations reported by a Telugu media outlet regarding purported corruption linked to contracts awarded by the state-run Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL).
This media outlet claimed that Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, who oversees the Energy and Finance portfolio, was implicated in granting a contract to a firm reportedly affiliated with the rival media group.
Revanth Reddy asserted that the media should avoid actions that could inadvertently bolster entities opposed to the state government.
He reiterated that his administration has zero tolerance for corruption and encouraged media representatives to seek his clarification before reporting on Ministers, MPs, and MLAs.
"As the Chief Minister and the head of the family, I am always open to providing clarity," he stated, adding that the dissemination of false claims against Ministers creates public skepticism regarding the integrity of the Telangana government.
Addressing the situation surrounding SCCL, Revanth Reddy noted that some individuals are making unfounded allegations against the Telangana government.
"Certain newspapers have suggested that there are direct or indirect scams. SCCL contracts are being awarded to experienced companies, leaving no room for even the slightest corruption," he declared.
He affirmed that his government has maintained strict vigilance against irregularities over the past two years.
Expressing confidence that the Congress party will maintain its governance in Telangana for another decade, he pledged to position Telangana as the leading state in the nation.
Additionally, he called on supporters of former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N.T. Rama Rao (NTR) and current Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu to unite against the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS).
On the anniversary of NTR's passing, the Chief Minister encouraged his supporters to honor NTR by uniting against BRS and former Telangana Chief Minister KCR.
At the public assembly, several attendees were spotted waving TDP flags.
