New Delhi, July 30 (NationPress) The President of the Central Tibetan Administration (CTA), Penpa Tsering, expressed unwavering support for India's Operation Sindoor, describing it as a vital and strategic reaction to cross-border terrorism.
Tsering underscored the necessity for a global zero tolerance approach to terrorism and commended India's actions as both decisive and meticulously planned.
"Terrorism across the globe must be confronted with zero tolerance. The Indian government's execution of Operation Sindoor was a systematic response to the terrorist threats posed by Pakistan," Tsering remarked, showcasing his clear backing for India's counter-terrorism initiatives.
Initiated on May 7, Operation Sindoor followed a terrorist attack in Pahalgam on April 22 that resulted in the tragic deaths of 26 innocent individuals. The operation constituted a coordinated effort involving the Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force to conduct punitive strikes across the Line of Control and deeper into territories occupied by Pakistan, aiming to eradicate the terror infrastructure at its core.
On the same day, the CTA released a statement revealing that Penpa Tsering would persist with his official tour across India after his engagements in Ladakh.
The upcoming segment of his visit encompasses three Tibetan settlements: Norgeyling (Bhandara), Phuntsokling (Odisha), and Phendeling (Mainpat).
"These excursions are part of the administration's commitment to connect with Tibetan settlements and community centres during its tenure," stated the CTA.
In addition to these engagements, Tsering is slated to visit Varanasi and Nainital, furthering his outreach and solidifying the CTA's connections with Tibetan communities nationwide.
Tsering's statements emerged amidst a high-stakes discussion concerning Operation Sindoor during the Monsoon Session of Parliament, where both government and opposition parties exchanged pointed remarks on national security, strategic responses, and political accountability in the aftermath of the Pahalgam terror attack.
