Thiruvananthapuram, May 1 (NationPress) The capital city of Thiruvananthapuram is currently under a strict security protocol as Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to land here later today to officially open the Vizhinjam International Port, a significant maritime development project.

PM Modi will arrive after participating in an event in Mumbai and will spend the night at the official residence of Kerala Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar.

By noon, security personnel will control the road from the airport to the Governor’s residence, prohibiting parking on both sides of the road.

On Friday, he is set to visit the Pangode Military camp and then take a helicopter to the Vizhinjam area.

The official inauguration of the port is slated for 11 a.m. on Friday at a designated site. The Prime Minister will dedicate the Vizhinjam International Deepwater Multipurpose Seaport, valued at Rs 8,900 crore, to the nation.
