Chennai, June 7 (NationPress) The Tamil Nadu Health and Public Welfare Minister, Ma Subramanian, made a plea to the public on Saturday, advising them not to succumb to fear regarding the recent increase in Covid-19 cases nationwide. He emphasized that the current strain of the virus is mild and does not present a significant health threat.
According to the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, there are currently 5,364 active Covid-19 cases throughout the nation, with four fatalities reported in the past 24 hours.
Despite the gradual spread of the virus in various regions, health officials assert that there is no immediate reason for concern.
During a public gathering in Erode, Minister Subramanian provided reassurance to the citizens of Tamil Nadu, stating that the situation remains manageable and the government is well-equipped to handle any potential surge in cases.
He mentioned, “There is no cause for alarm. The variant of coronavirus currently circulating is not severe. It is a less potent strain that does not lead to long-term complications.”
