Chennai, June 8 (NationPress) Union Home Minister and prominent BJP figure Amit Shah stated on Sunday that the coalition of BJP and AIADMK is poised to establish the government in Tamil Nadu after securing victory in the upcoming Assembly elections.

While addressing a gathering in Madurai, Shah proclaimed, "The NDA coalition consisting of BJP and AIADMK will take charge in Tamil Nadu in 2026. Although I reside in Delhi, I am always attentive to the sentiments of Tamil Nadu."

He fiercely criticized the DMK administration, claiming that the citizens are prepared to remove Chief Minister M.K. Stalin's government during the elections scheduled for next year.

Responding to CM Stalin's remarks, Shah remarked, "He (CM Stalin) claims I cannot defeat the DMK. He’s correct — it’s not my role. The people of Tamil Nadu will bring down the DMK."

Addressing the issue of corruption, he asserted, "The DMK government has failed entirely. The funds lost to TASMAC irregularities could have financed two classrooms in every school across the state."

The Union Minister reiterated his ongoing appeal for medical and engineering education to be delivered in Tamil.

"I urge the Tamil Nadu government to initiate these courses in Tamil promptly. Prime Minister Modi has honored Tamil Nadu by placing the Sengol in the new Parliament building. I hope the Chief Minister expresses gratitude to the PM for this recognition."

Shah also honored the Tamil nationalist hero Pasumpon Muthuramalinga Thevar, stating, "Madurai is not just a city; it represents over 3,000 years of history and culture. My respects to the great Pasumpon Muthuramalinga Thevar."

Earlier that day, Shah paid his respects at the revered Meenakshi Amman Temple.

State BJP President Nainar Nagendran likened Shah's visit to a strategic initiative, asserting, "Just as PM Modi executed 'Operation Sindoor' to expel terrorists, Amit Shah's post-darshan visit signifies the commencement of a silent operation to remove the DMK from governance."

On social media platform X, Shah stated, "The citizens of Tamil Nadu are weary of the rampant corruption of the DMK government. BJP workers will reach every locality, neighborhood, and home with the vision for a prosperous and developed Tamil Nadu, led by Narendra Modi."

Point of View

Amit Shah's statements reflect a strategic approach aimed at rallying support for the BJP-AIADMK alliance ahead of the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections. His focus on local issues and cultural pride resonates with the electorate, while his criticism of the DMK government taps into widespread concerns about corruption and governance. As the political landscape evolves, the BJP positions itself as a formidable contender for governance in Tamil Nadu.
