Chennai, Jan 20 (NationPress) The Avadi Police in Tamil Nadu are on the lookout for the primary suspect involved in the heinous murder of two siblings, both identified as “C” category rowdies and known history-sheeters.
The tragic event unfolded on Saturday, January 18, and a dedicated investigation team has revealed that the murders were ignited by a dispute between the brothers — Rettamalai Srinivasan (27) and Stalin Srinivasan (24) — and an individual named Ganesh.
After the confrontation, Ganesh along with his accomplices, Madesh and Tarun, fled the scene and remain untraceable.
Sources indicate that the brothers, allegedly under the influence of alcohol, engaged in a verbal dispute with the trio, who passed by on a motorcycle near Ayalacheri on the evening of January 18.
Following a fiery exchange, the trio initially departed but later returned with additional men and lethal weapons. They launched an attack on the brothers, who tried to escape. However, the assailants first cornered Stalin on Ayalacheri Main Road and fatally stabbed him. They subsequently pursued and murdered Rettamalai in a grove located at Dhanalakshmi Nagar.
The Avadi Police located the bodies and transported them for a post-mortem examination at the Government Kilpauk Medical College Hospital.
Five suspects — N. Praveen (19), P. Balaji (25), M. Karthik (20), N. Naveen Kumar (20), and K. Sathya (20) — all residents of Pattabiram, have been apprehended and placed in judicial custody.
Inspector Jagannathan of Pattabiram Police Station has been suspended due to alleged negligence in monitoring history-sheeters within his jurisdiction.
According to reports from IANS, Inspector Jagannathan neglected to act on a list of history-sheeters forwarded by headquarters, which had advised Station House Officers to closely observe their activities.
